There is a difference between asking for attention and having presence.
I think about that a lot when I design.
The strongest pieces I make aren't necessarily the loudest. They're the ones that change something when you put them on. The way you stand. The way you move. Maybe even the way you see yourself in the mirror.
Linear Luxe taught me that.
How It Began
I first designed the Linear Luxe Shoulder Dusters nearly three years ago during the Christmas holiday season. In my mind, I could see them on women wearing sleeveless cocktail dresses, that long, uninterrupted line falling nearly to the shoulder. Elegant. Strong. Quietly commanding.
Then I put on the first pair.
And something shifted.
I'd experienced that immediate lift jewelry can give you before. That feeling of putting on the right piece and standing a little taller. But this felt different. It wasn't simply a boost of confidence. Something about it felt more permanent, as though the earrings hadn't created the feeling at all.
They had revealed something that was already mine.
I loved the length. I loved the movement. I loved what happened to the way I carried myself when I wore them.
And almost immediately, I knew two things.
These weren't going to be my special-occasion earrings. They were going to be my everyday earrings.
And if they could make me feel this way, I knew there were other women who could experience that same shift when they put them on.
That realization has stayed with me ever since.
The Geometry
The geometry came naturally. Open circles. Long lines. Repetition.
In the Mixed Metal edition, bright Argentium silver hoops are punctuated by small touches of gold. In the Oxidized edition, those same forms become deep black against gold, creating a stronger, more dramatic contrast.
And then there is the Gold-Filled edition.
There is something different about Linear Luxe when the entire silhouette is rendered in gold. The geometry is still there. The strength is still there. But without the contrast between metals, the long line becomes almost fluid. Rich and warm, it elevates the design in a way that feels less about contrast and more about pure presence.
The hoops are gold-filled, connected with the same groups of three gold-filled rings used throughout the other editions.
Three. Always three.
They could have been purely functional. Instead, they became part of the rhythm of the design.
The Hammer
And then I hammer each hoop.
The hammering isn't decoration added after the design is finished. It's part of what gives Linear Luxe its character.
It takes a clean, precise circle and gives the surface dimension, strength and a little unpredictability. The silhouette remains architectural, but it no longer feels perfectly still.
There is a presence to the finished metal that a smooth surface simply doesn't have. Even from across a room, the earrings hold their own.
That balance has become one of the things I love most about Linear Luxe: strong geometry that never feels rigid. Refined, but not precious. Feminine without becoming delicate.
The original Shoulder Dusters are approximately six inches long. They move with you, and they are meant to be seen.
The Day Edition
But over time, I began to realize that the feeling behind them didn't have to exist only at that scale.
So I created the Linear Luxe Day Edition.
Shorter. Easier to wear into an ordinary Tuesday, a meeting, dinner, or wherever the day takes you. But I didn't want to simply make a smaller version of an earring.
I wanted to preserve the feeling.
The same geometry. The same movement. The same balance of strength and femininity.
The same woman.
What I Know Now
Nearly three years after making that first pair, I still wear Linear Luxe. And I still believe what I realized the first time I put them on.
Jewelry doesn't give a woman presence.
But sometimes, the right piece can remind her of the presence that was already there.
